Cafes to Work From in Bangkok, Thailand (With WiFi Speeds)

I spend a lot of time working on my laptop from cafes in Bangkok. Here are my notes in case they’re useful to anyone. All WiFi speeds are measured with Fast.com. I’ll update this list as I visit more.

Here’s what the emojis mean…

  • 😍 - One of my favorite places to work.
  • 👍 - Great place to work.
  • 🤷 - Decent spot to work from if you’re in the area.
  • 👎 - Not a good place to work.

Thong Lor

OKONOMI 👍

Great food and drinks. Mostly small tables. Scattered power outlets but there are a lot of them. Order from server. WiFi 40 mbps. (June 22, 2025)

Phrom Phong

AROON cafe 👍

Very comfy seats. Long couch with a bunch of individual tables. Power outlets near almost every seat. Order from counter. Tables are higher than at most cafes, which is perfect for someone like me roughly 180cm tall. WiFi 420 mbps. (June 20, 2025)

IKEA 😍

The actual restaurant. Not the little bistro in front. You have to walk through the typical IKEA furniture maze to get here, but it’s worth it for this amazing work space. It’s MASSIVE with all different types of seating and tons of natural light. Order from counter. Plentiful power outlets. Lots of people working at the window area looking out at Benchasiri Park. Drinks are half the price of most cafes in this neighborhood. You could easily spend a whole day here and nobody would bother you. This might become one of my go-to spots. WiFi isn’t crazy fast (9 mbps), but it’s reliable. (June 26, 2025)

Sarnies 🤷

More of a food spot, but there were a few people working when I went. Power outlets near some of the tables. (Haven’t been to second floor. Might be better to work up there.) Order from server. Open until 10:30pm, so decent spot for working after most cafes close. WiFi 330 mbps. (June 20, 2025)

Starbucks (EmQuartier Helix 5th floor) 👍

Inside, it’s just a Starbucks. But the outdoor seating area is amazing (although it lacks power outlets). You’re surrounded by trees and plants and a little river, with a nice view of the city. This is one of my favorite places to work on a day that’s not too hot. WiFi 10 mbps outdoors, and might be faster inside. (June 25, 2025)

Asok

Artis 👎

Order from counter. Limited power outlets. WiFi is borderline usuable. Measured at under 1 mbps and constantly cut out entirely. (June 23, 2025)

CAPHE OI 👎

Order from counter. Very small space with only two tables. More of a take-away place and not really a spot to spend a lot of time. WiFi 16 mbps. (June 24, 2025)

Nana

im cafe 🤷

Order from server. Cute medium-sized place. Great prices! Limited power outlets and small tables. WiFi 40 mbps. (June 24, 2025)

Phra Khanong

SINGLE LANE Specialty Coffee 🤷

Kind of a small space with limited power outlets. Order from counter. Decent spot if you’re in the area, but not somewhere to go out of your way for. One of the best matcha lattes I’ve ever had! This seems more like a place for great drinks than a working spot. WiFi 260 mbps. (June 20, 2025)

Udom Suk

Ministry of Roasters 👎

Very cool space that seems really into their coffee technique. Order from counter. Lots of natural light. Huge space, multiple rooms, and big tables. Good spot to set up a second monitor. Scattered power outlets, but it wasn’t hard to get a table next to one. The only reason I can’t recommend this place is because the WiFi was very inconsistent. 45 mbps when the cafe was empty, but once more people showed up, it kept cutting out entirely and made working here very difficult.
